The fees for the Fall 2010 program are as follows:
Tuition: $627/credit hour
Total Tuition: $10,033 (16 semester credits)
Transportation in Japan: $2,800
Room and Board: $6,645
The program fees include:
Personal expenses, insurance, books, transportation to and from Japan, and personal travel during the three-week research period are not included.
Transportation
Students must make their own travel arrangements to Kansai International Airport (near Osaka) for the start of the program and from Kyoto/Osaka to their home destination at the end of the program.

Scholarship and Grant Opportunities
Kyoto Buddhist Association Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of the Kyoto Buddhist Association, student scholarships for the 2010 Japan and Its Buddhist Traditions program are available to those students who would otherwise be unable to participate in the program for financial reasons. Download the scholarship application here.
Scholarships and Grants Resources
AEA has compiled a list of resources for outside grants and scholarships that may be applicable to this study abroad program. We strongly recommend that students begin the scholarship and grant application process as early as possible, as these deadlines may differ considerably from AEA deadlines.

Outside scholarships can be of great help. In the past, students on AEA have successfully received the Gilman International Scholarship for up to $5,000. The application deadline for this substantial award is April 15.
