Financial Aid, Grants, & Scholarships

Making inquiries and arrangements for financial aid is the responsibility of the student. Many students have been able to apply financial aid from their home institution to the Buddhist Studies in India Program.

  • Early contact with the home institution's financial aid and study abroad offices is strongly advised.
  • According to the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (102-325), federal financial aid is transferable and applicable to study abroad.
  • Individual payment plans through Antioch Education Abroad may be arranged.
  • AEA offers a limited number of scholarships for the Buddhist Studies in India program.  You can download the application here (in PDF format).
  • AEA has also compiled a list of resources regarding outside grants and scholarships that may be applicable to this study abroad program. We strongly recommend that students begin the scholarship and grant application process as early as possible, as these deadlines may differ considerably from AEA deadlines.

Outside scholarships can be of great help. In the past, students on AEA have successfully received the Gilman International Scholarship for up to $5,000. The application deadline for this substantial award is April 15.
