This reserve protects a large tract of Brazil's Atlantic Forest, which is a biodiversity 'hotspot'. This is our first stop after arriving in Brazil. We stay for five days for an introduction to the fauna and flora of this biome, and lectures covering the main threats to biodiversity and Brazilian environmental protection laws.
