Cows are inseparable from the Indian economy, culture, and religion, and from my memories of my time there. I captured this image in Bodh Gaya on my way to the market. Animal and man mirror each other perfectly: the folds and shadows, the light and dark, the starkness and complexity, the strength and frailty; while the lines of the background meld with those of the cow.
