Costs/Aid

We understand that the decision to send your child off-campus for a semester or year can lead to questions and concerns regarding financial aid and expenses. Please keep in mind that study abroad programs are subject to the same conditions of financial aid as studying on campus. The dominate majority of students apply financial aid through their home institutions to AEA programs.  AEA staff can advise your student about his/her financial aid, but making inquiries and arrangements for financial aid is the responsibility of the student. Your student's study abroad and financial aid offices should also be able to answer questions. In addition, we offer payment plans, as needed, to those who qualify. Feel free to contact AEA for more information about this option.

In addition to financial aid, many students have found scholarships and grants useful in supplementing any additional costs for study abroad. AEA has compiled a list of Scholarship and Grants that may be applicable to our programs. You may want to encourage your student to investigate these opportunities as early as possible as their deadlines may be well before AEA deadlines. Click here to download the Scholarship and Grant Guide.

For many students, the cost of an AEA program is comparable to the cost of studying on the student’s home campus. Please contact AEA for a complete cost breakdown for the program in which your student is interested.
