Financial Aid
Study abroad programs are subject to the same conditions of financial aid as studying on campus. The dominate majority of students apply financial aid through their home institutions to AEA programs. AEA staff can advise you about your financial aid, but making inquiries and arrangements for financial aid is the responsibility of the student.
* Early contact with the home institution's financial aid and study abroad offices is strongly advised.
* According to the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (102-325), federal financial aid is transferable and applicable to study abroad.
* As needed, individual payment plans through AEA may be arranged.
* AEA has compiled a list of outside grants and scholarships for study abroad. We strongly recommend that students begin the scholarship and grant application process as early as possible, as these deadlines may differ considerably from AEA deadlines. You can download this Guide here. Or contact AEA to receive a printed version.
