| Q. | How will the potential reopening of Antioch College affect Antioch Education Abroad? |
| A. | The plan to reopen Antioch College as an independent institutions does not effect the current operations of Antioch Education Abroad. As a part of Antioch University, Antioch Education Abroad, will continue its programming with full staffing, unchanged content of the academic programs, and full accreditation. The faculty and staff of Antioch Education Abroad are wholly committed to continuing our historic tradition of offering challenging study abroad programming to students of Antioch University and from Colleges and Universities around the world. Antioch Education Abroad is committed to serving students of Antioch College after it’s reopening. |

How safe is study abroad for my son or daughter? |

At Antioch Education Abroad, we consider your sons' and daughters' safety our top priority. Please review the Safety Information for Parents section of the AEA website for more information, including phone protocol. |

How soon after I send in my application will I know of my acceptance to the program? |
A. |
You will usually know within three weeks of the program deadline - or sooner - if you are accepted or not. You may also contact Antioch Education Abroad at any time to inquire about the status of your application.
Early acceptance may be available upon request. |

Do I have to speak the language of the country I want to go to? |
A. |
All of our courses, with the exception of Antioch in Germany, are taught in English. Additionally, many of our programs have an optional or required language component, though prior language study is not required. Antioch in Germany requires students to have two years of college level German study or its equivalency in order to qualify, and all courses are taught in German. What if I decide to withdraw after I have already accepted my invitation to participate in an Antioch Education Abroad program? |

Though you are always free to withdraw, your $200 planning deposit paid upon acceptance is non-refundable. Other withdrawal penalties may apply. Please contact Antioch Education Abroad for more information. |

How do I obtain a visa? |
A. |
Antioch Education Abroad will make arrangements for students in certain programs; in other programs, students actively participate in the visa application process. Contact AEA for more information on a specific program's procedure. |

How many students typically go on an Antioch Education Abroad program? |
A. |
At Antioch Education Abroad, we value hands-on learning in small to medium groups ranging from 12-18 participants. The exception is our Buddhist Studies in India program which can have up to 30 participants due to the accommodations in a Buddhist monastery. |

Can I get credit at my school for participating in an Antioch Education Abroad program? |
A. |
As a part of Antioch University, Antioch Education Abroad grants credits that are accredited by the The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in Chicago. Antioch University will issue a transcript for work completed. When you enroll in an AEA program, you have the opportunity to take up to 16 credits. In the process of advising at your home institution, you and your faculty advisor, along with your study abroad office, will determine how many credits will be approved and how many will be applied to your major. |

Can I pay the application fee in cash? |

No. All fees must be made by check or money order. |

To whom do I pay program fees? |
A. |
All program fees are paid to Antioch Education Abroad, Antioch University. If your institution is paying your tuition, they must certify and let us know when and how payment will be made. Further information and instructions will be sent to you in a financial agreement upon acceptance to an AEA program. In addition, AEA has compiled a list of outside scholarships and grants that are available to students. Click here to download AEA's Grants/Scholarships Guide. We recommend that students pursue these opportunities as early as possible because many of the deadlines are before AEA's deadlines. |

Will all of my financial aid cover study abroad? How do I process this? |
A. |
In most cases, the federal financial aid granted by your home institution applies to study abroad. In general, rules on the eligibility of scholarships and institutional aid are determined by your home institution. Please make appointments with your study abroad and financial aid offices on this matter. Also, please visit our Financial Aid page for additional information. |
| Q. | Are there any additional costs above and beyond the tuition and fees that I pay? |
| A. | The stated cost of an AEA program covers all tuition, room and board, and in-country transportation. Some program fees also cover international travel. Based on your lifestyle and the country of the program, the amount of money needed for additional expenses varies. You may want to set aside money for supplies, souvenirs, gifts, or extra meals. AEA can provide an estimated amount needed for additional expenses based on past participants. |

| A. | Applications deadlines are listed above. If you wish to be considered for early acceptance, you may apply well before the deadline, but you must specifically request consideration for early acceptance. |
| Q. | Where will I live during an Antioch Education Abroad Program? |
| A. | Accommodations vary widely from program to program. Possible living arrangements include hostels, university housing, monasteries, field stations, and home stays. Check out the appropriate page in our programs book or visit the program webpage for additional information. |
| Q. | What will I be eating? Can you accomodate special diets? |
| A. | The types of meals provided vary from program to program. However, most meals served are typical of the country or region in which the program takes place. The needs of vegetarian and vegan participants can be accommodated, but it is helpful to know this information before the program begins. We will accommodate additional eating restrictions or special needs when possible. Please contact us with specific questions you may have. |
